2. Michael suggests that someone like fRank Gehry should use his skills in practical ways like designing bridges rather than for designing aesthetically pleasing buildings. Do you agree?

1. I think Yhinny's meaning is that Frank Gehry has builded many buildings, and many of them are very famous.

So designing aesthetically pleasing buildings are as important as designing bridges.
3. Some of them are agree, I disagree.
Because I think Frank Gehry is a genius, and everyone has a disadvantage. So just forgetting about environmental problem, and enjoying his buildings!
Frances, I agree with you that F. Gehry is genius, that why, in my opinion, he pays attention to environment too, because environment is all what we call security, safety, practicality etc. But F. Gehry is so talented that he gives us a possibility just enjoying his buildings and no thinking about practical things.

Julius, i agree with you, and i also think that Frank Ghery is an architect that like to innovate to capture the attention from others, also with his building design demonstrate that he don't care what others think, he just build it up in his distinctive way. i think that he cares about the environment, sometimes they forget about it.
DeleteI think that many people including myself do agree with Frank Gehry's creativity because the style is simple, strong and beautiful and that's why he can be considered as the godfather of modern architecture. indeed, The dancing house and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao can largely proove his talent.

ReplyDelete2. I don't agree witch Michael because Gehry's buildings are not only aesthetic but also strong, functional. The intended use of building is it very important for F. Gehry, it means he takes notice of utility and pragmatics.
3. These students talk more about a distinctive style of Gehry's building and his talent. But they don't agree that he doesn't pay enough attention to the environment because this architect use very different materials for his buildings, even very simple, also fancy. In my opinion, I disagree to, because I know that this architect pay attention attention not only to beauty, but to others aspects too.

I disagree, I think Frank should be able to design whatever he wants. if he wants to make rare and interesting looking buildings thats great, and if he doesn't want to be more practical, that's okay too.

The students would disagree, they admire the way he recycles old building materials. I also disagree, I think his way of using old and used metals is very good for the environment.
I agree with Agne, her opinions are the same as mind.
I think that Yhinny is trying to say that Frank Gehry is well-known of his design and his dynamic style, many has invited him for designing. That is the reason why his buildings are all over the world as we can see.
ReplyDeleteAs what Michael says about Frank Gehry should be more practical, I agree his statement but I think a design of building is also important, Frank Gehry can be more practical and less focus on designing, but none of these two could be ignored.
